TwoWolfPack soccer teams left Holy Innocents' defeated with stellar performances both offensively and defensively.
The junior varsity boys soccer team proved to be faster and more skilled than Holy Innocents in a 4-1 deafeat on Friday night, April 8. The attack was led by Rachid Bilotti (10th) with two assists and an unassisted goal on a solo run from midfield. Jake Rivers (9th) scored the Pack's first goal, and the only goal of the first half. He drove the ball over the keeper from the top right side. Noah Dryden (9th) knocked in the second goal with a sinking ball driven from similar range. Both were assisted by Rachid who added the third goal on the night.
Holy Innocents would capitalize on a penalty kick for their only goal of the match thanks to the Pack's defensive efforts.The Pack's final goal of the match came from sweeper Jakob Burkette (10th) weaving through the Holy Innocents' defense to find the net with seconds left in the match.
The Middle School boys soccer team continued a week of out-of-league matches with another thrilling 2-1 win on Friday at home vs Holy Innocents. The WolfPack attack had great success moving the ball and pressuring the Golden Bears defense but were denied scoring often by incredible goalkeeping and three times by the post! The Pack went up 1-0 in the second half after a precision through ball by K.J. Johnson (8th) found Luke Wilson (7th) who buried the finish in the top of the net. After conceding the equalizer, it was John Johnson (6th) who put home the winner with two minutes remaining. It was an appropriate dramatic finish to a thrilling week! The boys complete regular season play with three games next week. Thanks to all the fans who came out to cheer us on. Go Pack!
