Congratulations to sophomore Myles Rowe, who was recently named the amateur champion in the Federal-Mogul Motorparts’ Search for a Champion contest. Myles, a grassroots go-kart driver, earned a $10,000 scholarship to help him pursue his dream of becoming a professional race car driver.
To enter the contest, Myles submitted an essay on racing, along with pictures of his many victories across the nation. Hundreds of entries were received, with participants representing virtually every form of engine-driven competition. Applications were narrowed down to 25 finalists, and Rowe was selected as the winner. The Search for a Champion contest was launched five years ago to serve as a catalyst for talented young drivers who are committed to elevating their programs
and competing on a national stage.
Rowe is in his third year of go-kart racing but has already sketched out a plan to progress through four racing categories in the next several years, with the ultimate goal of becoming the youngest champion in the history of Indy Car competition.
