Whitefield students celebrated Easter with acts of service, helping out at the Vinings Estates Easter Egg Hunt and a Special Olympics event sponsored by the Fulton County School System. Freshmen Sarah David and Mikala Chambers helped hide eggs at the Easter Egg Hunt and also searched with the participating children. Kaleb Brooks (9th), Dylan Mclean (9th), and Tyson Jackson (10th) spent Good Friday teaching Special Olympics kids basketball skills.
“It was a lot of fun. Some of the kids were really small, so I would just lift them up to the basket so that they could drop the ball in,” said Tyson. “We hung out with the kids, served snacks and drinks, and just enjoyed each other’s company.”
