Despite the pouring rain, the Pack varsity boys and girls soccer teams both shut out Mt. Paran. The boys won their game 5-0, and the girls beat the Eagles 3-0.
The boys' win secured the team’s undefeated record of 3-0. Freshman Simon Sengson led the Pack with two goals on the night, assisted by a corner kick from William Hellier (11th) and a driving pass over the defense from Kerry Martin (12th). Kerry completed his own goal by beating multiple Mt Paran players down the left sideline before finishing on the near post. In the second half, William added to his season goal total with a free kick which was placed perfectly between Sengson and Chip Soud (11th), who joined and then split the Mt. Paran defensive wall. Another corner by William was finished by striker Josh Orr (10th), bringing his total to 10 on the season.
The girls' team had a 3-0 victory with both the defense and offense playing a solid game. Mary Kate Eaton (10th) put the WolfPack on the board first with a beautiful goal, followed by Anna Grace Kwon (9th) and Macy Kendrick (10th), who each scored. Goalkeeper Lauren Burke (11th) had multiple saves at goal.
Come out next Tuesday, March 1 at 4 p.m. (girls) and 6 p.m. (boys) and cheer on the WolfPack soccer teams as they play Pace Academy at home.
