The varsity boys tennis team kicked off the dual meet against Campbell High School last Thursday, winning 3-2. The boys #1 singles player Rubin Thomas (11th) fought hard until the last point, but lost 6-8. The boys #1 doubles players, Alex Forsbrand (12th) and Will Schultz (12th) played against formidable opponents and lost 2-8. Patrick Spellissy (10th) brought home the first win of the day with a quick 8-2 win at #3 singles. Team captain Holden Hosch (12th) secured the second win for the WolfPack with a score of 8-4 at line #2 singles. Christian Knox (10th) and Connor Miller (9th) brought home the boys' team win with a dominating 8-3 win at #2 doubles.
The varsity girls were led by Hannah Morris (9th) #1 singles who wasted no time pulling ahead of her opponent. Hannah sealed the win with a score of 8-2. Sherina Thomas (9th) played a great match at #2 singles with solid ground strokes throughout, winning 8-3. Keri Quillin (9th) line #3 singles dominated her opponent winning 8-0. Team Captain Ansley Guthrie (11th) and Sarah Davis (9th) made a great team and won line #1 doubles 8-2. Olivia Veenendal-Casper (9th) and Anna Reeves McCutcheon battled at #2 doubles but darkness forced an early end to their match with a close 4-7 loss.
