Middle School and Upper School students enjoyed Winter Week, a week of dress-up days and other festivities, which culminated in home basketball games and the crowning of Mr. and Miss WolfPack. Students started off the week with tacky day, wearing mismatched outfits and clothes pulled from their parents’ eras. They forsook their uniforms for jersey day, donning their favorite team jerseys, followed by pajama day, super hero day, and blue and gold day. Students took over the school’s Instagram account @WhitefieldAcad to grab snapshots of their friends and Whitefield’s “best costumes.”
On Friday, the varsity boys basketball team aggressively took the court against Pinecrest, ending the first half on top. During halftime, the winter homecoming court was escorted onto the floor dressed to the nines. Escorted by their fathers and mothers, each student enjoyed the thunderous applause of family members, the Blue Crew, and other fans.
The girls on the court included Megan Rose Byers, Rachael Lewis, Anna Reeves McCutcheon, Emily Sumlin, and Sydney Wingate. Boys on the court were Will Brogan, Connor Caffrey,
Malik Jones, Luke Miltner, and Kalen Tavassoliime. At the close of the ceremony, Malik Jones and Sydney Wingate, were crowned Mr. and Miss WolfPack.
The varsity boys team took the court again to complete its 59-40 win over Pinecrest. Following the game, the basketball court was converted to a dance floor and Upper School students danced into the night.
