Third graders recently ventured on a science field trip to Camp Sunrise, a faith-based camp facility located in Fairmont, GA. The students spent the morning at the camp’s planetarium, Sunrise Planetarium, attending a space program on the Earth’s movements and constellations. Students were treated to a train ride, heard a short presentation on Georgia history, and spread out their boxed lunches for a picnic on the grounds. They also heard a presentation about the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
“The Sunrise Planetarium had a few dogs, Shadow, Spot, and Homer, and they added extra excitement to the trip,” said Vicki Simms, third-grade teacher.
Upon arrival back on Whitefield’s campus, students reviewed friendly letter writing, by composing excellent thank you notes to the camp directors.
