This season, the WolfPack varsity cross-country teams have competed amidst the toughest competition in the state and are rising to the occasion, This past Saturday, the varsity team traveled to Clinton Farms in West Douglas County, GA, to compete at the Atlanta Classic, where many cross-country powerhouses were running. The WolfPack ran strong.
Senior Kerry Martin continues to be the top WolfPack varsity runner followed, in respective running time order, by freshman Zachary Justice, freshman Sean Morris, senior Kalen Tavassoli, sophomore Nicholas Harris, and freshmen Luke McLemore and Caleb Corliss. This young powerful team bodes well for the future of WolfPack cross-country.
The big news of the day at the Atlanta Classic was when the WolfPack junior varsity boys team finished in third place with Brian Pickens and Colson Gulledge medaling at fifth and seventh places, respectfully. Other top 20 JV finishes were Crawford Folk at 15th, Jordan Johnson at 19th, and Brooks Bynum at 20th. Further, varsity girls Kate Taylor and Adria Stevens raced well in the girls championship amidst top runners.
Next Saturday, the varsity and JV teams travel to the ASICS Cross Country Invitational at the Foxhall Sporting Club in Douglasville, GA.
