Whitefield hosted the Pace Academy Knights at home on Thursday and remains undefeated after a 28-6 win.
On a key 4th down and 35 play in the first quarter, Eric Little (7th) ran a 46-yard touchdown with Danny Megathlin (8th) adding the two-point conversion to put the Pack up 8-0. Megathlin had a strong game, including a 35+ yard touchdown run in the first half to put Whitefield up 14-0. After a Pace score, the WolfPack defense got into the act with just under two minutes remaining in the half when Jason Dinschel (8th) made a pick six interception returning it for 54 yards for the score. Pace continued to create strong competition, driving down to inside the 10 with less than 10 seconds to go in the half. A key interception by Bryce Davis (8th) ended the drive. At halftime, the Pack led 20-6.
The second half was marked by great defense by both teams. Whitefield’s defense was highlighted by another interception by Davis and the second interception by Dinschel who returned the ball 40 yards deep into Pace territory. Whitefield tacked on another score in the fourth quarter with a great touchdown run by Micah Smith (8th), and Jackson Lewis (8th) added the two-point conversion to make the final score 28-6.
Whitefield remains undefeated and plays their again at home next Thursday against Our Lady of Mercy at 6:30. Come out and support the Pack!
