More than twenty Upper School students and teachers served the homeless of Atlanta at the 9th Annual Health Day event coordinated by Lazarus Ministries and Atlanta Mission. The event was held at the Urban Garden near Centennial Olympic Park.
Over 1200 members of the homeless community were served delicious food, and received medical screenings, haircuts, manicures, or other services at the event.
“The Whitefield group made and distributed 2000 sandwiches and spent time hearing stories of our brothers and sisters in the homeless community,” said David McCune, Upper School math teacher. McCune coordinated the effort in conjunction with his own church, Trinity Anglican Church.
