Varsity Football Wins First Home Game
Whitefield Academy’s varsity football team earned its first victory of the season and the first victory for new Head Coach Quinn Gray in a 40-0 win over Providence Christian.
The Wolf Pack scored their first touchdown in the second quarter and never looked back. Jordan Edge (12th) scored on a 3-yard touchdown run and the Pack was off and running. Jordan scored again during the second quarter, this time on a 28-yard run from scrimmage to put the Pack up 14-0 at half. Jordan ended the night with 97 rushing yards. QB Carson Brown (11th) was next to get in on the scoring action with a 4-yard touchdown run to open up the third quarter, putting the Pack up 20-0. Brown then completed a 39-yard touchdown pass to Will Schultz (12th) to put the Whitefield up 26-0. Cameron Jenkins (12th) and Carson each scored on two additional rushing touchdowns during the third quarter, putting the finishing touches on the Pack’s outstanding scoring efforts. Carson turned in an outstanding offensive performance finishing the game with 237 yards of total offense, 128 passing yards and 109 rushing yards. Other key offensive contributors were Austin Sumter (10th) with four receptions for 51 yards and Will with three receptions for 59 yards. The Pack had total offensive yards of 355 and 14 first downs.
The Pack defense was also outstanding all night holding Providence to zero points on just 65 yards of total offense. Cameron led the way with 6 tackles. Jake Lewis (10th), Jordan Siabu (1th1) and Kyle Holt (9th) each had four tackles.
Varsity Volleyball Wins Three Matches
The WolfPack took on three separate teams in a quad match, taking each match to three sets and winning all! Sunni Dupree (12th) had eight aces and 23 kills on the night, Katie Cella (10th) had 16 digs and 18 kills on the night, Alex Kelley (10th) had 50 assists, and Mary Kate Eaton (11th) had 12 kills.
