Congratulations to several Spanish language students who attained national recognition for excellent performance on the 2015 National Spanish Examinations.
Participating Whitefield students earned a total of two gold, six silver and ten bronze medals along with nine honorable mentions. Gold and Silver medal winners Donovan Pearce (8th) and Zachary Justice (8th) were placed second and sixth in the state of GA, respectively. Sophomore Melissa Lezcano placed third in the state of GA ahead of other bilingual participants.
The National Spanish Examinations are administered each year in grades six through 12, and are sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.
