Whitefield Academy hosted its annual signing day ceremony in the Athletic Center on Thursday, April 30. Six senior athletes committed to play at the collegiate level and one theater student committed to the study of musical theater.
Austin Hoover will study musical theater at Samford University in Birmingham, Ala. After a rigorous audition process, he was awarded the Samford University School of the Arts scholarship in musical theater.
Sky Dupree will play lacrosse at North Greenville University. North Greenville is a Division II school that competes in Conference Carolinas. The school is located in Greenville, S.C.
Naomy Grand’Pierre will be swimming at the University of Chicago. The University of Chicago is a Division iii school that competes within the University Athletic Association (UAA) conference. The school is located in Chicago, Ill.
Rachel Hicks will play tennis with Washington & Lee University. The university competes at the Division III level and in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC). The school is located in Lexington, VA.
Robby Keough will run cross-country and track at University of Virginia, UVA is a Division 1 school in the Atlantic Coastal Conference. The school is located in Charlottesville, VA.
Matt Olson will play baseball at the University of Richmond. The University of Richmond is a Division I school that competes in the Southern Conference. The school is located in Richmond, VA.
Justin Samples will play tennis at Morehouse College, where he has earned a full academic scholarship. Morehouse College is affiliated with the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) and competes at the Division II level. The school is located in Atlanta.
