Students Inducted Into Fine Arts Honor SocietiesStudents Inducted Into Fine Arts Honor Societies

Thirty-five Upper School students were honored yesterday for their commitment to fine arts and their contributions to the Whitefield arts program during an induction ceremony for three distinct fine arts honor societies.  Jason Van Bemmel, Upper School principal, opened the ceremony with words of praise for each student, then Rebecca Brown, Upper School arts teacher; Stacy Quiros, fine arts director and band teacher; and Kayla March, drama teacher each introduced the students for their respective honor societies.





Brown inducted 19 new members into The National Art Honor Society. The organization exists to support and inspire art students to recognize artistic ability, further aesthetic awareness, and bring positive attention to the school and community. The organization also serves to foster artistic excellence and further the creative talents of the members and of the entire school.



Congratulations to the following inductees into The National Art Honor Society: Bryce Belyeu, Sage Blackwood, Jessica Burnett, Kelsey Butler, Carson Brown, Kristen Corliss, Merritt Enright, Sam Fishbeck, Alexander Forsbrand, Audree Grand’Pierre, Naomy Grand’Pierre, Ansley Guthrie, William Hellier, Samara Huggins, Evan Johnson, Katherine Martin, Jimmy McCarthy, Alexa Perez, and  Margaret Reed.





Quiros inducted Brenna Fowler, John Kendrick, and Brandon Morris, into the Tri-M International Music Honor Society. The Society recognizes secondary music students that exhibit exceptional scholarship, leadership, service and character. Whitefield Academy recognizes seniors who participated in band classes for four years of high school.















Marsh inducted the new members into The International Thespian Society, which exists to advance the standards of excellence in theater arts and to honor those students who excel in theater. The society strives on the belief that participation in the arts is an essential means of widening students’ cultural horizons and enriching their lives.



Congratulations to these International Thespian Society inductees: Sage Blackwood, Jessica Burnett, Brittany Crisp, Ruthie Evans, Lucy Eichelberger, Maggie Leigh Faulk, Jake Fikse, Sage Hammond, Miles Hampton, Samara Huggins, Peter Keith, Julia Mixon, and Gabby Pinson.
