Varsity Girls Soccer Team Beats Mount Vernon 5-0
The varsity girls soccer team earned a 5-0 win over Mt Vernon with Macy Kendrick (9th) opening up the scoring in the first five minutes of the game. Macy scored two goals; Logan Pearce (11th) scored two goals; and Ryan Llewellyn (9th) scored her first goal off an assist from Macy.
Varsity Boys Soccer Team Wins 4-2 Over Mount Vernon
The Pack won an important region match by taking the lead off a header from Stephen Hellier (9th) to Josh Orr (9th) to Kerry Martin (11th) twenty minutes into the game. Stephen also assisted in the second goal with a header-through ball over the defense to Josh to give the boys a 2-0 lead at the half. Mt Vernon capitalized on a penalty kick in the early part of the second half. Austin Hoover (11th) put the third goal in off of an assist by Josh. Mt Vernon answered with a header on a corner kick to bring the match within one before the Pack's final goal on a through ball by William Hellier (10th), which was finished by Josh.
Middle School Boys Soccer Team Beats North Cobb Christian
The Middle School boys soccer team won convincingly on Tuesday, March 24 by maintaining possession, winning the physical battle, and repeatedly putting the ball in the back of the net! In posting another shutout, goalkeeper Walker Smith (7th) touched the ball only twice, both in the first half, and the WolfPack did not surrender a goal kick, let alone a corner. Matthew Kwon (6th) continues to develop into a powerhouse at defense.
Eighth grader Matthew Oluyide’s monster presence at striker opened the door for numerous opportunities on offense. Congratulations to Justin Gachoya (6th) and Everett Sinclair (7th) for posting their first goals!
Also contributing goals were Simon Sengson (8th) who posted a hat trick and Jovany Simon (8th) whose tenacious play on the wing resulted in two goals. Matthew Sumlin (8th) added two goals, and Jack Krahel (6th) added a goal as well, scoring again from defense.
