Students learn from artist Tom Jones

Whitefield art students were privileged to enjoy demonstrations by nationally-acclaimed watercolor artist Tom Jones on Tuesday, February 24. Middle School and Upper School students both watched as Jones shared the techniques which have helped him create beautiful prints and paintings. Jones' artwork focuses on natural settings, and includes paintings of old rock formations, forests, old buidings such as barns, and seaside scenes.

A resident of Central Florida, Tom has been commissioned to paint by government agencies, corporations, environmental groups, clubs, and private collectors.  His art can be found internationally in many private and corporate collections, including commissioned paintings displayed in the Florida State Capital Building, Walt

"Tom Jones is a master of his craft. He obtains extremely difficult effects such as moving our soul at the sight of a beam of sunlight piercing through the foliage of the forest. That is magic; That is a great painter," said famous artist Pablo Sansegundo-Castaneda.
