Sixteen Lower School students, led by Vicki Simms, third-grade teacher, participated in the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) Spelling Bee on February 9 at Strong Rock Christian School in Locust Grove, Ga. Whitefield competed against five other schools, with each school sending

Hunter Fennel (2nd) and Sydney Nettles (3rd) each took first place at their grade level. Hunter also won first prize in last year’s competition. Four other Whitefield students placed at the top of their competition: Nathan Jones (3rd) and Katy Burklin (4th) won third place; and Peri Weilacher (4th) and Marley Sanacory (2nd) both took fourth place.
