Blue Team Earns Strong Victory Over Mount Paran
Whitefield’s Blue Team, the eighth-grade boys basketball team, came up with their strongest victory of the season at Mt. Paran Christian School in Kennesaw on Saturday. Pierce Rogers drove to the basket against Mt. Paran’s big men to get them in foul trouble early, and Julian Munoz, Kaleb Brooks, and Zach Justice all hit threes in the first quarter. The team’s backcourt press held Mt. Paran to one basket in the second quarter. Whitefield contributed 15 points as a team each quarter and prevented the opposing team from ever breaching 10. Zach Justice played his best ball of the year as a scrappy defender and the high scorer with 16. But make no mistake, this was a team effort from start to finish. The Blue Team has a three-game week coming up, and plans to continue the winning streak.
