Officers of the Upper School Thespian Society planned and conducted two theater workshops for third through eighth-grade students on Saturday, December 6. Over thirty children attended the workshops, which were organized to help foster a passion for theater arts in the younger students at Whitefield.
Third through fifth-grade students learned about auditioning, stage makeup, warm-ups, dancing, and singing. Sixth through eighth grade students learned these skills as well as advanced acting techniques, stage combat, improvisation, and choreography.
“Both groups performed a 15-minute production for parents and friends at the end of the workshop,” said Kayla Marsh, Upper School drama teacher. “Our Upper School students really did a great job.”
