Varsity Boys Basketball Team Defeats Walker



On Tuesday night the Whitefield varsity boys basketball team traveled to play Walker. The team opened up the game going on a 6-0 run, but Walker eventually scored and the WolfPack led by four at the end of the first quarter. The boys continued scoring and by halftime Whitefield led 34-22. In the second half the team started to separate themselves from Walker, going on a few scoring runs of six or more points. From there the team never looked back. In the end Whitefield won 72-49. Leading the team in scoring was junior Brendon Myles with 26 points, followed by senior Norman Harris with 21 points and senior Courtney Alexander with 11. Leading the team in rebounds were Norman and Brendon, both with eight, while Courtney had six. Sophomore Isaiah Hart led the team in assists with five and steals with four. 



 Varsity Girls Basketball Team Takes Down Walker



On Tuesday, December 9, the Lady WolfPack took their game to Walker, defeating the Wolverines 67 to 42. Leading the Pack were Laren Vanarsdale with 23 points and 10 steals, Carmyn Cosey with 18 points, and Devyn Wilson, who put 15 points on the board. Lillian Hill and Devyn picked off 11 and seven rebounds, respectively. Lillian hit five out of six free throws, bringing her total points for the game to seven. Samara Huggins grabbed the ball away from Walker for seven steals. Misha McDaniel hustled every time she was in the game and had a brilliant save, keeping the ball in WolfPack hands during the second half. Hannah Brown played an aggressive game, complete with steals, rebounds and blocked shots. Sydney Wingate was all over the court stealing the ball, setting up offensive plays and grabbing at least six rebounds. Sydney scored a total of seven points.



Overall, The Lady WolfPack has a 7-2 record, with a regional games record of 2-1.



The next game is the Chick-fil-A Brawl Bowl in Houston County, Georgia, on Friday, Saturday, and Monday, December 19, 20, and 22.



Middle School Girls Basketball Team Remains Undefeated



The Middle School girls basketball team continued their undefeated streak (5-0) with a 32-9 victory over The Walker School. The Pack dominated the entire game with strong defensive play, creating turnovers. Scoring leaders included Shelby Wingate with 12 points; Hannah White and Grayce Guthrie scored eight points a piece. Emma Dew continues to lead the Pack in rebounding. The Pack heads to play undefeated Mt Bethel on Thursday for a chance to claim a top spot in North Atlanta Metro League at the mid-season break.



Middle School Gold Picks Up Another Win



The Middle School Gold boys basketball team played a very good game on Tuesday afternoon, defeating Walker 30-17. Whitefield jumped out to an 11-2 advantage and led by double digits at the end of the second quarter. The Pack continued to pressure Walker defensively and executed well offensively through superior ball handling after halftime. Seventh-grader Jason Dinschel (11 points, six steals) and sixth-grader Myles Redding (10 points, five steals) proved to be a strong combination in the backcourt. Seventh-graders Bryce Davis (five points, three rebounds) and Ethan Garrett (two points, four steals) made important contributions on both ends of the court.
