The Whitefield kazz band performed for the Smyrna Area Council Breakfast of the Cobb Chamber on October 30 at Brawner Hall. This was the final Smyrna area meeting of the year where the 2014 Smyrna Citizen of the Year award was presented. Whitefield connections abounded. Besides the Whitefield jazz band playing, Whitefield administrator and Smyrna Area Board Chair, Tom Wood presented the award on behalf of Smyrna Mayor Max Bacon, while Whitefield Lower School dad and Smyrna Rotary Club President Scott Auer accepted the award on behalf of the winner, longtime Smyrna resident and Rotary member, Sam Whitfield.
