The WolfPack Varsity Boys Basketball Team won a thrilling game Saturday night over class AA East Hall, 80 to 72.
The visiting East Hall Vikings played inspired basketball throughout, led by their star guard, senior Joshua Hampton, who scored 30 points. However, the Pack was too strong for the determined Vikings as Kenny Gaines and Erik Lockett led the WolfPack in the heated contest. Gaines (12th) scored a team high of 23 points while Lockett (10th) added another double-double to his outstanding sophomore season with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Lorenzo Carter (10th) had his best defensive game of the season with a season high of eight blocks. Whitefield’s intimidating environment was as loud as ever; the home team fed off Blue Crew cheers and pulled out the close win. Whitefield is now tied with Landmark Christian Academy for the first spot in the region.
